Where Rental Cars Cannot Go
A handful of areas are off-limits to rental vehicles across Georgia, not just as a policy but because the roads themselves are unsafe or unpaved: Tusheti, the Vashlovani Nature Reserve, and Juta. The Goderdzi Pass route between Akhaltsikhe and Batumi is also best avoided — narrow, prone to landslides, and far slower than it looks on a map. We’ll flag any restricted stretch on your planned route before you book, not after.
