Our home base — delivery anywhere in Tbilisi city is free. The starting point for Mtskheta, the Georgian Military Highway, and the Kakheti wine region. Most travelers begin and end their Georgia road trip here.
The Georgian Military Highway climbs from Tbilisi through Ananuri Fortress to Stepantsminda, beneath Mount Kazbek and Gergeti Trinity Church. AWD is essential here — gravel switchbacks and sudden weather make it non-negotiable.
East of Tbilisi, Kakheti has produced wine in qvevri clay vessels for 8,000 years. Telavi is the practical base — Sighnaghi's hilltop views and Alaverdi Monastery are a short drive away. A car matters more here than almost anywhere else in Georgia.
Georgia's second city — midway between Tbilisi and Batumi. Prometheus Cave, Martvili Canyon, and Okatse Canyon are all within reach. Kutaisi Airport has become a popular low-cost entry point for European travelers.
Batumi's Old Town and boulevard are walkable — but the rest of Adjara isn't. Gonio Fortress, Mtirala National Park, and the mountain villages of Khulo and Shuakhevi all need a car. Most popular one-way destination from Tbilisi.
30 minutes north of Batumi on the Black Sea coast. A quieter alternative to Batumi as a coastal base — with Ureki magnetic beach, Petra Fortress, and Mtirala National Park all close by.
The last real town before Svaneti — the practical pickup point if your trip is built around the Mestia gorge road. Dadiani Palace and Enguri Dam are also here. Ideal for one-way trips ending in Tbilisi or Kutaisi.
